WTC College Phaltan is 65 years old co-educational grant-in-aid college started in the year 1957. The institution caters to the need around 4000 agrarian based rural students especially girls, who constitute 64 % of the total strength. The college offers a range of six programs at UG level which includes B.Sc. (in chemistry, physics, zoology,botany, statistics, electronics and maths subject), B.A. (in Marathi, Hindi, English, History, Politics,Geography,Economics, philosophy subject), B.Com., B.C.S., B.C.A., and B.B.A. and three PG program M.A.,in Marathi, Hindi and English M.Sc. in Chemistry and M.Com. And MA, M.Com, M.Sc. Distance mode of Shivaji University and YCMOU.

The institution has a well maintained eco-friendly and vast infrastructure conducive to teaching, learning and overall development of students. College has 32 classrooms (includes one smart classroom) which are quite adequate for the total no. of 4133 students enrolled for various subjects and courses for the year 2021-22. Our College is multi faculty College that offers multiple courses as U.G. courses in Arts, Commerce, Science and P.G. courses in Marathi, Hindi and English as the traditional courses. We also conduct B.B.A, B.C.A. and B.C.S. computer courses. We run the College in morning session and evening session. We offer P.G. courses in Marathi, Hindi and English. Thus, College is pened since 6.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. each day.

We have 19 spacious laboratories out of which 16 are of science labs and 3 Computer and Management Labs. We have eight science Departments such as Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Statistics, Botany, Zoology, and Geography. College have 185 Computers, 13 Laptops and 17 LCD, one smart classroom and rich library. Some of them are distributed to different Science Departments, Computer and Management Departments. Geography and Statistic Departments have separate computer labs. There are enough number of scientific calculators in the Statistic Department.

College have clean and hygienic Canteen that offers snacks and breakfast at affordable rate. College having green campus that awarded Chh. Shivaji Maharaj Vanshri State level awards 2019. College have self developed water resource.

The college owns a picturesque sport ground with natural grass with an area of 6.2 acre. The College is committed to offering resourceful infrastructure for overall growth of students. It provides adequate facilities for cultural activities, indoor and outdoor sports events. The institution acknowledges the role and significance of sports, cultural activities, and the overall character-building process of the students. Hence, the college encourages its students to participate in sports and cultural activities around the year. Play Ground of 6.2 acre has facilities for outdoor games such as football, volleyball, hockey, kho-kho, kabaddi and different events in athletics. We have 400 mtr lane running track. Sport Department of our college is one of the strongest Sport Departments in the Sivaji University, Kolhapur.

We have well equipped Cultural Department which sets up in one of the rooms of the Multipurpose Hall. We have necessary musical instruments such as synthesizer, harmonium, C.D. player, tabala, dholak, dholaki, pakawaz etc. Multipurpose Hall of area 332.00 sq.mt. utilized for cultural activities and indoor sport activities. We have open theater also. Cultural Department have glorious tradition of fetching the prizes. College appoint commercial trainer to train participant students properly. This year due to corona pandemic online competitions were held, three students got the prizes in different events. College campus is under CCTV surveillance. We have 32 CCTV cameras in our college. We have two units of N.C.C. one for Boys and second for Girls. N.S.S. unit has brought bu fame to the college by receiving the first ever “Indira Gandhi National NSS Award” in 1994 instituted by Central Government.
